GB Masters 2011.

In reforming as a Club our immediate aim was to partake in the GB Master 2011.

With help from Crawley BC we were able to train and host a few games between February 2011 and June 2011. Friendly matches vs Horsham (twice), Eastbourne, East Grinstead, Crawley and Worthing proved invaluable as the squad attempted to regain some sort of ‘form’. With the tournament approaching the fact that we’d NOT won a game was beginning to play on the players’ minds and Game One VS The Navy was critical. A great game ensued and with the entire squad (JVC, Russ, Al, AP, Nick, Nyk, Stace, Sinn, JW, George, Cloughie and me) playing their part an 18 point blow victory proved to be the fillip for the weekend ahead. Tough matches Vs Manchester and Dundee ensued but the results kept coming our way and the Final Vs Aberdeen highlighted a tremendous weekend. A 10 point reverse proved that the final was one game too far and with the plane literally on the run way waiting for us to board we scooted away from Manchester in fine spirits and a runners up medal ......truly remarkable given an average age of 47!
